ADMISSIONS

In order to be admitted as a regular student to one of UFPE's Undergraduate courses, applicants must undergo a public open examination called "Sistema de Seleção Unificada" - SISU (literal translation: Unified Selection System).The system only admits grades obtained at the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio - ENEM (literal translation: National High School Exam).

ADMISSION

The admission process starts through public calls launched by the graduate programs. Through these calls, applicants get information on how each specific program select students. Each program has their own criteria, but most of them evaluate their applications trhough a knowledge test (for masters), CV analysis, pre-projects submission and presentation or through a combination of two or more of these steps.

It is important to consider, especially for european master’s students, that the Brazilian Higher Education System is a bit different from the European one, since our Bachelors usually last from 4 to 6 years and Masters (2 years) only begin after the completion of the bachelor and a second entrance exam (the process mentioned above).

Taking that into consideration, there may be subjects in the undergraduate programs that might interest an European masters student. We indeed suggest that they take undergraduate classes, since the amount of subjects offered is greater. The explanation on our undergraduate credits system is available at this link.
